Moles (nevi) are natural, but they don't have to be permanent. If you have a benign mole that catches on jewelry, rubs against clothing, or simply bothers you aesthetically, we offer safe, medical-grade removal solutions.
At CAllen Cosmetic, we specialize in the removal of benign (non-cancerous) moles for cosmetic reasons. Cosmetic removal is a private service and is not covered by OHIP.
Note: If you have a mole that has changed shape, color, or size recently, please consult your family doctor for a referral to a dermatologist first.
Our Removal Methods
We choose the method that will leave the best cosmetic result (smallest possible scar) based on the type of mole you have.
1. Radio-Frequency (RF) Excision
Best for: Raised, fleshy moles.
We use a precision RF tool to "vaporize" the mole tissue layer by layer. This cauterizes the skin instantly, meaning no stitches are required and healing is very fast.
2. Shave Excision
Best for: Protruding moles.
Using a surgical blade, we carefully shave the mole flush with the skin surface. No stitches are needed, and the area heals like a small scrape.
3. Surgical Excision
Best for: Flat or deep moles.
The entire mole is removed, and a few small stitches are used to close the skin. This ensures the mole does not grow back.
Common Questions
Anytime the skin is broken, a scar is possible. However, our cosmetic methods are designed to minimize this. Most removals heal into a tiny, pale mark that is barely visible and fades over time.
No. We apply local anesthesia (numbing injection) before we begin. You will feel a small pinch during the freezing, but the removal process itself is painless.
Yes. There is zero downtime. You will leave with a small bandage and can return to your daily activities immediately.
